Can anyone shed some light on these sunglasses?

It's late, I'm tired and I know that was a bad play on words - sorry :D

I've got these two pair of sunglasses and I'm not sure about date or any other "pertinent" info - your help is GREATLY appreciated!

First these octagons with curved wire stems -

And these "Hobies" - Hobies is a water sports outfitter - surfing, etc.

80's maybe?

Nope. Hobie sunglasses didn't come out until the early 80's. The "company" (like, one guy) originally started selling surfboards in the early 50's but the clothes and accessories didn't come until much later.
 
Oh, yes, 70s on the first--we all wore 'em back then!

On the second, I'm thinking more modern. They don't seem to be "big" enough for the 80s.... (though not everyone wore huge "fearless fly" glasses!) The cat's-eye shape of lens & frame together, in a wire frame, was popular in the 90s into contemporary times. I'm no expert on sunglasses, but I don't think they're 70s, and I'd tend more toward 90s.

I first thought 70s on the octagons because, yeah, I had my prescription in a gold tone pair - I was SO COOL in 7th grade! The only thing is these are not "crappy" but not really what I would expect as 70s quality. Heavy wire, small, thin hinge - not really "solid" metal frame feeling.


The Hobies - I'm thinking "Miami Vice"?
