Can anyone tell me anything about this top hat?

Can anyone tell me anything about this Top Hat? I reached out to the makers on the label but they were unable to help.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Nice one! Pity that Christy's could not help out. They have a very nice website but not many examples or labels.
It looks Victorian to me but can't be sure of date. Hopefully someone else may be of more assistance.

Not entirely sure but my guess would be about 8inches

Thank you so much for the information. I have now established that from brim to top it is 6 inches. It is not silk but could be beaver?

Nice hat, hard to date it exactly but it does look late Victorian to me. It is definitely silk, not beaver.

Thanks for your response. We didn’t think it was silk as it has a pile to it and a fur like feel, not flat and smooth like silk.
