Can anyone tell me...is this barkcloth?

Hello all,
I have been thinking this fabric is barkcloth but after a bit of research I am not so sure-can anyone tell me? And if its not what is it? Many Thanks, Vix.

I am seeing linen....not barkcloth. But wait until others report in....I haven't had coffee yet and my eyes are just opening.

Hi,

I really like your fabric. It is not barkcloth, but is what I would call a mid century modern, or 1950s Eames Era upholstery fabric. It looks like it has been woven to imitate homespun linen fabric or another "rough" linen weave, and is likely cotton or linen or a blend pf the two. I have seen similar fabrics with the same weave, but different colors and pattern. The design and colors are very 1950s in appeal. Do you have a lot of this fabric or just a small piece? It is very cool indeed!

Thanks Barbara! I have a lot of it-I am selling it on ebay (uk) right now wrongly labelled as barkcloth! Oops! I will rename it. Thanks so much for your info. I was thinking it was Eames-ish. It is lovely! I like the idea of dresses made out of it!
