Can RAB be more modern?

I have a wonderful western image skirt from Perry Sport that I think would be for the RAB crowd but I am not sure if they only go for vintage fashions.....I really am not sure of the date of the skirt and haven't found any info on the company...only Perry Ellis and Fred Perry show up on a web search...

Here's the skirt:

And a small section of the fabric:

And the label:

Can I still put RAB in the title or just stick with Western/Cowboy? Thanks.........

Hi, Gail -

More modern stuff can certainly be RAB - in this case, however, something about the color scheme and the flounce below the waist makes me shy away from it being a VLV item.

There are a lot of vintage barkcloth items out there that have inspired a ton of this type of print - but you mostly see this type of print on curtains, pillows and such.

I'd probably market this more toward rodeo crowds - it's rodeo time again!

I don't mean to hijack your thread, Gail, but I've got a similar skirt from Ralph Lauren. I have the very same questions that you have. "Rodeo skirt", "RAB", "VLV"....what fits..???

Both those skirts, in my opinion rock! Love the prints (and the flounce).

So, if I'm understanding correctly, these can be RAB, but not VLV?

Hmmmm...the way Patsy has hers displayed sort of changes my mind! Gail, do you have a crinoline you could add? Or maybe show it spread out in a circle? I still think rodeo crowds would like this as well - I do think I'd put rodeo in the title.

Sue, personally, I think RAB and VLV can be interchangable - as long as VLV is used the right time of the year and not in July - that's one of my pet peeves!

Great skirts, ladies!

I also think VLV is RAB "Dressed up" so to speak. WHen you go there, you want to dazzle!

The way you have it displayed, Gail, it looks like a western style skirt that is more tapered through the hips and then is fuller towards the bottom. I am not sure if it is the same cut as Patsy's...but i would see what it does.

Thanks, Melanie. I'm going for broke, then...! I'm gonna put all three....RAB, VLV, and Rodeo skirt in my title. Gail, I think you should, too. There's really not a dime's worth of difference between yours and mine.

Thanks for all the input. :)

My skirt actually is three panels and does go down on the hips before flaring out. It is currently up for bid but I will add RAB to the title as there is no bid yet. It also has a crinoline underneath but I probably should have fluffed it out more. :headbang: If it doesn't sell this time around, I'll make more changes on the relist.
