Can someone PLEASE date these shoes for me? I get 40\'s & 70s, w/no

Hi there!

Ok, twice now these heels have been a hot debate. Are the 40's or 70's? The girl that gave them to me, said 40's. They are sort of a soft material (almost like suede), mint condition, the bows still have tissue inside of them and the store they were made in no longer exists.
Please, can someone date these?

Yes, I think these are 70s doing 40s. They are nice. What size?

I agree they are not 40's, see the the bottom of the heel it has that covering on it...if they were 40's you would most probably be able see the tiny nails right in the bottom. That was my first clue.

How come they dont sit flush with floor? It looks like the toes are turned up???

You got me! I have NO idea why they don't sit flush. Weird, weird shoes. I keep wanting to list them, then I change my mind EACH time!:P

Do they fit you, is that why you are changing your mind :)

I had a pair of shoes that sat like that...the back of the ball of the foot sat flush, but the toe was slightly upward. They were pretty high (in overall heel height). but when you put your weight in them, they do sit flush to the ground.

Naw, I change my mind 'cause I can't really figure out what year they're from. The picture rather differently from what they actually look like.
And yup, these do the same thing, when you put your weight in them, they sit flush to the ground!

I would still say that the heel is too wide and straight to be the earlier date.

Don't kid yourself into thinking that because they are later they are a disappointment. They have a great look, and a lot of people will buy the 70s and 90s versions of platforms to wear when they don't require exact historical reenactment, and don't want to wear their perhaps delicate 30s and 40s shoes out dancing. They would of course treat their shoes with care, but wouldn't have to fear quite as much in many cases.

Heck...list them as black bow platform pumps in the 70s category and i am sure they will fly.
