Gorgeous - love the colour! I think it's a German brand, even though I haven't come across it before. BUT - I have a 1960s velvet dress here made from fabric by the same fabric company - Niedieck. Seeing your label here has actually answered a question for me, because in my dress it's a different logo and the font isn't easily readable, and I wasn't sure that I have the name right - but now I know! It seems that this company specialised in velvets - mine also says Niedieck Brillant Samt (I assume that last word is on the other side of your label - samt means velvet in German).

Quick search results - Niedieck, the company that produced the velvet fabric, was located in Lobberich (part of Nettetal) in North-Rhine-Westphalia in the very west of Germany, on the border to the Netherlands. In the 1960s and 70s, their velvet fabrics were apparently world-famous and even used by the likes of Nina Ricci, Chanel and Dior. Their slogan was "Niedieck Brillant-Samt - Königin der Stoffe" - queen of fabrics and they ran TV ads too! Hence why their label would be in a garment beside the label of the company that produced the garment. The brand still exists or at least still existed until a few years ago, but the company itself went bankrupt in 2003 and was taken over by another which produces Niedieck velvet now in the Czeck Republic. It looks like there's lots of history there as the company was already founded in the late 1800s, but I couldn't find a lot more.

I have definitely gone down a rabbit hole... :hysterical: I am now on track to acquire a book about the textile production in that area of Germany, apparently there were silk mills as well. I am just fascinated about a company that apparently produced world-famous velvet - and the fabric on my dress is just one of the most gorgeous velvets I've ever handled.

Ohhhh I know what you mean!! I find it so weird that there is almost no information online about this silk, because it was so populair. I would love to see the dress btw!

I will try and photograph it tomorrow... it's gorgeous, but so hard to take photos - the deepest blue with slashes of green, a typical early 60s shirtwaist dress. A chance flea market find for a tenner. I believe mine is cotton velvet, at least it feels like it.
