Can we talk about Lucie Ann?

I have a black nylon nightgown with scattered rhinestone bodice that has this label along with the Henry's label (Henry's is an upscale department store in Wichita):

All of the Lucie Ann's that I have owned have the tulips on the bodice (this one does not) and the label typically says Claire Sandra for Lucie Ann in gold embroidery. So, my questions are:

*Is there a label resource for Lucie Ann? I didn't see one listed here.

*Is there someone here, or that I can contact, that may be able to give a more in-depth history on the company (aside from what I can gather from google)? A guru?

*Was Lucie Ann's full name "Lucie Ann Rich" or is the last name Rich just associated with the people that own the company now?

*Did the company ever advertise their gowns? I can't find a single ad anywhere.

That's all I think. Thanks!

Sorry can't help you with any of the info you need as I have never come across this label in the UK but I just want to say that the gown is GORGEOUS!
I'd be quite happy wearing that with my fuzzy slippers eating popcorn while watching a movie. It would "glam" up my life a bit and make a change from being covered in horse poo and having bits of hay sticking out of my hair :D

It was only the Claire Sandra pieces that had the tulips....

I'm surpised there isnt a label in the resource! I believe I have at least 2 I could contribute, maybe you and I should add ours to the label thread....

Anyway, I dont know much about her/it other than that the coveted Lucie's are the glam ones and this one should do really well. I think once when I had a Claire Sandra one someone here know quite a bit more and was quite helpful, I hope they come along! Ang

Thank you all for the info - I never even considered looking at TM soooo that makes sense about the three different name hits because this is what I found on google about Amanda Rich, the company that now owns the Lucie Ann name:

The Amanda Rich story began in Hollywood in the 1950s. There, Lucie Ann of Beverly Hills was the lingerie designer to the stars. Her gowns were seen on glamorous stars on the movie screen and on television. She chose luxurious sheer fabrics and voluminous designs for the peignoirs, negligees, flowing robes, gowns and lounge wear so popular with glamorous stars of that era. Her line included quilted satin robes, bed jackets, and caftans that were a must-have for such stars as Zsa-Zsa Gabor, Loretta Young and Elizabeth Taylor. In the '70s, Eva Gabor chose the designer to dress her in lingerie for the popular Green Acres television series.

Lucie Ann's untimely death left the company adrift, and finally the manufacturer's doors closed. But requests for the beautiful lingerie continued from the loyal Lucie Ann customers. Finally, her heirs, the Rich family, eventually decided to re-launch the line. Newer fabrics and finishes, and many new designs were incorporated, but many of the time-tested core favorites reappeared. The newer colors, trimmings and prints are all Amanda Rich.

Today the company is headed by Jane Hall. This year her company, Amanda Rich, named for her children, Amanda and Richard, celebrates its 10th anniversary of success since that 1997 relaunch. Jane Hall proudly offers the soft, flowing lines, the drape and sweep that made the Lucie Ann label such an enormous hit from Hollywood to New York. Glamour still sells!
