Can you help me date these bags?

Hello, i was wodering if anyone could help me date these bags? The first one looks like crochet, and has a bone? detail at the top. Is the cord handle orginal? The second is a metal beaded bag, with fringe- 1930's? And the third is a large back bag. The middle pannel is pleated and it has a brass coloured clip, and silky lining.( if you click on the pictures, you'll see the larger pictures)
Any help would be appreciated

Nice bags!!

I'm not an expert but I think the first one may be Edwardian and the second one from the 20s.

I'm sure someone will come along who will be more definate.

thanks deborah, thats a lot more definate than i was! What i really need is a good book on bags, so i dont have to satisfy my curiosity by bothering everyone on here! Can anyone recommend one?

Are you sure the frame on the first one isn't celluloid? My first gut reactions was 30s but i could be way way off.

I would venture to say that the first one is celluloid. Does it seem delicate, fragile?

I have a few bag books I can recommend. Let me get the titles and I will post them here.

the first one is a plastic ( possibly celluloid) handle and corde bag - these are almost always 1930s.

the second is 20s

I can't see the 3rd well enough to tell

Thanks everyone, what does celluloid feel like? The reason i didnt think it was plastic was because the back of the carving is slightly rough, and its clicky against my teeth. Does anyone have any ideas on the black one? You'll get a bigger picture if you click on it, Thanks for all you help

I've no idea on the first one, though it's really pretty! The 2nd I agree that it's 20s, and I'm guessing 40s on the last one due to the clasp and the trim on the inner panel.

The last one could be 40s or 50s. leaning towards 40s but its hard to say not "live and in person".
