Can you help me date this Loungewear set??

I found this great set at a recent estate sale. The top is ivory brocade and has wonderful rhinestone buttons and a long peplum, it also has shoulder pads. The pants are black satin and have a side metal zip. I haven't found anything to compare it to by searching the label. Is "loungewear" a good key word for this?? It almost seems like something you could wear to a party.

I made the mistake of trying on the top and it fits! This one will be hard to let go of! So if it's "new look" then late 40s to early 50s???
