Can you please help me date and size these boots?

Wow those are gorgeous, I would snap them up if they were 4 sizes bigger :)

I don't know the US equivalents, but B is on the narrow side for a UK shoe - for a modern foot anyway. Modern UK shoes are made usually D width as a standard, or sometimes C.

But as I said somewhere else, apparently British people have unusually wide feet!

I know. I love them and I would wear them if they fit.

The length from heel to toe measures 8 3/4 inches.

The width across the ball of the foot measures 3".

The height of the heel measures 2 3/4 inches.

The length in the front from the tongue to the bottom measures 17 1/2 inches.

The length in the back from the top to the bottom of the heel measures 15 1/2 inches.

I do hope when I list them for sale others will see the beauty too and bid, bid, bid. :)

Thanks. I was able to find a shoes chart converted shoe sizes. A UK 4 is a US 6. The euro size doesn't match up with 55 though.
I am still wondering what the B width equals.

Hi,

If they are vintage, I see very early 1970's..1970-1971. Although the curved heel looks more like reproductions made recently so I could be off. Late 60's 70's usually had chunkier or different heels. But these are made in the UK so I might not be on target here. Are they leather or is that a faux leather/vinyl? The soles are leather so I assume the grey is leather also?

I think they might not be all that old. Wonderful workmanship.

I forgot to add...if they were my size I would be all over those! They are really fabulous.

The tongue is leather. They are in great condition. There is one missing eye and there are two yellow spots on the leather under the laces. The lady who sold them to me told me they were circa 60s and purchased in England. I bought them at an antique store. I hope they are from around then. That is what is on my receipt.

Thanks Jonathan. Do you know if the B means that the width is narrow?

I also found the lining inside the boot to be interesting. I think it is nylon.

Oh, the lining.... you asked about that. Looks like nylon tricot--a very popular lining fabric for shoes and boots around then. Beware if it's the thick stuff that has a sort of underlining to it--it turns to dust eventually, but yours looks like the thinner kind.

Hi Anne, Thank you. The lining feels thin. It feels like the some of lingerie I have had from the 60s.
