Can you please help me with some hats?

I mentioned a son/mom had been selling me stuff little by little in previous posts. Well I got to go back there. I was hoping to find matching peices to pieces I previously bought and I wanted a hat that I saw.
No matching pieces but I got the hat. Bumbed out I went someplace else and went a wee bit hat crazy.

Barbara I thought of you when I got this particular hat. I don't know if it is cause you know your hats well ;), or if it was because of your avatar.

Anyone who can help me with dating, type of hat, or anything else is greatly appreciated. :)

This hat as far as I know has Ostrich feathers and miliner flowers (sp?), and a label but that's all I know.

The box came with it too.

Thank you, Caryn

NY Creation hats are typically the best ones I've ever had--without exception, they've been high quality and very stylish!

Did you look here: http://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/new-york-creation/

I hope Barbara comes along to better date this, but all the NYC hats I've had personally have been from the 40s; I don't recall having any from the 50s. I'd guess, based on the ribbon strap for the back of the head, that yours is early 40s. At least the ones I've had with that have been earlier in the 40s than later.

Hi Anne, I did look at the label resource but previously I only looked at the labels. This time I read about New York Creations. Very interesting information!

Well hopefully Barbara and others will chime in with what they know too.

Thank you, Caryn

Thanks Barbara. I do have more hats. I think I have 8 more to show you that I got and I actually took some photos of some others with my cell phone. I did not know what was what so I took a hat book that happened to be there and took the types that looked similar to the hats in the book.

I think what I got was 20s, 40s, 50s, and one 60s/70s. I will be showing them shortly and will be hoping you post. ;)

Thank you, Caryn
