I am in Canada and am interested in compiling some resources regarding fashion history and designers in Canada.

I stumbled upon that while looking up Marielle Fleury as I have a velveteen coat I am trying to date...the label is Rain master.

Rain master was a ready to wear coat manufacturer. There is a brief bio about Marielle Fleury in French that says she opened her first boutique in 1962. She also did work for our former Irving Samuel:

That red and white wool dress illustrated at the bottom of the page has a store label in it. The McCord Museum paid an obscene amount of money for it from Beverly Birks. It was put up for sale on eBay and the seller very cleverly contacted all her Canadian clients, so it sold quite high (its certainly one of the earliest if not the earliest labelled Canadian dress extant) I seem to recall it sold for something like 2,500 and Birks tacked on a zero for resale!

I found this article on her involvement with RainMaster, in which you will note it says that her involvement started in 1969 for several years. Which equates to early 70's.
