candy striped cardigan - date?

i thought this was early 80's, maybe late 70's? but it is niggling at me - just wanted a second (or as many as i am lucky enough to get) opinion! for a split second i thought it might be older. ideas datewise?





it's a thick cottony knit, just one label which is v. faded with a 52 and another number below.



i quite like it but am i the only one?

I do like it and with the stripes being vertical, it is very slimming.

With those puffed upper sleeves, I am going to say 80s but could be late 70s.

thanks linda, i think you're right. it reminds me of stuff of my auntie's i used to get given when i was young and i would be very excite as they would be WAY more fashionable than my usual stuff. I'll list in 80's, just wanted it confirming!
