Cashmere by Pringle cardigan 2 BUTTONS?

I got a lovely red Pringle cashmere sweater today dirt cheap but it's missing two buttons... They're specific to this brand, so I wonder if anyone out there has an old Pringle sweater that I could have/buy two buttons off of?

Hey...it's worth a shot!

It's kind of hard to tell in the photo, but the buttons are "gold tone."

I feel your pain. I have been looking for a couple of Escada button for probabl 4 years now. I forget if I need one or 2.

I am going to suggest if no one has one or you don't find a destroyed Pringle to donate its buttons, contact Pringle. They are still around. Maybe they would sell you replacement buttons if you sent a link to the sweater and label showing its authentic. The style may not match exactly to the vintage buttons, but maybe if you changed them all to the new, it would work

Also, the other idea is to replace all the buttons completely and just keep the originals. If you are selling it, you can give it to the new owner, or if you are keeping it - its just something to keep on hand until you do find mates.

Thanks, Chris and Carrie,

I've sent an e-mail, so we shall see. Oddly, it's the very top and very bottom buttons. I think it only dates from the 80s, but it is just beautiful, heavy, scrumptious red cashmere.

I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't know the brand when I found it, but I could tell it was good. Needless to say, my Irish golfing husband instantly knew what it was and was impressed!

Thanks for the good wishes, Carrie. Yeah... I only paid $5 for it, and I think I want to keep it rather than sell it, so it's worth a look-around for some buttons. I also like the idea of just changing all the buttons, but holding on to the originals. If I have no luck with finding two "P" buttons, I'm going to do that.

Thanks, folks! (I love this forum!)
