Cashmere Couture... Cashmere toilet paper, that is

This has been going on for a few years now. We have a one that was donated to our museum by someone who created it at home (and did a great job) but they weren't allowed to enter it in the contest because it is open only to selected designers (you have to be asked to create a dress), and those who are chosen get large sheets or yardage of toilet tissue -they don't have to work from rolls with the perforations, which would make the construction MUCH easier.

I'm really shocked! Having to create something beautiful with all those perforations in the way is what I assumed to be the primary challenge. If they're working with large sheets (not to mention that the pink color is actually a pretty shade, unlike that of the garbage bags Gaultier managed to transform...) the "wizardry" has been given a sizeable handicap, it seems...

Oh that was such a treat! Thanks for sharing that link. Back in the 60s I wore a paper dress to a high school banquet .... with disastrous results! LOL. I'll never forget it!!
