celluloid zippers

Does anyone know anything about celluloid zippers? I have what I believe to be an early 40s pantsuit with an odd Talon zipper that I thought was plastic, but now am wondering if maybe it is celluloid. Did Talon make celluloid zippers? The zipper is a bluish color.

These are the three types of early plastic zippers produced by Talon @1938-44

Often the style on the right will have a plastic ring instead of a metal one.

Are they celluloid? Likely technically, yes. I have pondered this question many, many times but I'm too wrapped up in the scientific chemical make-up of it all to commit to a solid answer. LOL

In period materials it seems as though Talon never referred to them as celluloid-simply as "plastic".
But, Talon WAS using Pyralin in the manufacture of some of these zippers. In an earlier discussion here, Jonathan pointed out that Pyralin is celluloid- a specifically trademarked type. :)

They certainly look and feel like celluloid when handling them. :sunshine:

Great pant suit momandpop, and great cache of pale blue plastic zippers Melanie! I have seen white, and black plastic zippers in real life from this era, and I have seen adverts for coloured ones, but I have never seen pale blue ones before!

Momand pop- the pantsuit is very lovely  I don't know if there is a specific name for it, although it does look like it could be loungewear.
Also, I really like your clock! ;)

Thanks Jonathan! I have been very fortunate in finding many interesting zips for my collection. I am lucky to have a few other colors, too. :)

Nicole- in the US, a pantsuit is a ladies' two piece suit, generally with some sort of tunic and matching pants, the sort of thing a '70s housewife would have worn. A one piece thing is usually called a jumpsuit.

I am thrilled to get the information on the zipper... I bought this at a really great estate sale last summer and it's been bugging me ever since. Thanks!
