CHANEL - authentic or fake?

Hi Everyone,
I found this sweater dress - it's beautiful quality fabric with a very complicated pattern featuring the CHANEL name and logo. I am having a crisis of confidence about it's authenticity. I've read everything I can find on the internet, not much pertains to knitwear. None of the tips for looking at construction that I've seen relate to knitwear. The little metal CHANEL button near the hem is stitched on. Does anyone have any tips?

I've decided it's likely a fake, based on the wonky logo on the label, and the stitching of CHANEL is not consistently bold as it should be.

Joanne for future reference, we do not give opinions on authenticity at the VFG as they need to be handled in person - some auction houses will do this for you.
