On another chat list, we've been discussing workshops and the cost to attend. Mine are expensive $995. for 5 days plus air, hotel, and all meals, except lunch.
A suggestion was made to make dvds. I've avoided this medium because you don't have the support staff that comes with a publishing house and most of the videos and many of the cds are really awful. I don't have time to learn a new set of skills but have a thought.
As many of you know, I really want to write a book about the Chanel suit I wrote CHANEL about visiting their archives. Naturally, they said "no." but the letter gave me some things to think about. So here are some thoughts for proceeding with a DVD--Behind the Seams of the Chanel suit.
I have a registered trademark for Behind the Seams. The video would focus on garments which I own--16 couture suits, some copies in a variety of prices, and some Chanel rtw. It would not include sewing techniques but would include samples which I had made that are influenced by Chanels I've seen.
If you are a trade member, would this be useful to you? If so, at what price? If you are a Friend or visitor, would this interest you?
For both groups, what suggestions do you have for things to include or omit?
If you don't want to post your thoughts here, VFG members can post on the Trade list and anyone can send me an e-mail [email protected].
