Chanel photo

I'm doing some research on a Chanel suit. This photo of a suit I have was given to me. It's hand dated 1971, but no source was cited.
Can you provide any thoughts based on the style of the photo? Many thanks, Claire

Nice looking suit, Claire! Wish I could help with the dating...the photo does look either late 60s or 70s to me but that is not a definitive answer for you.

Mary Jane, the date is 1971 according to the person who gave me the photo copy, but he didn't identify the source and didn't remember when I asked?

While at MCNY on Mon. I looked at the HB. The photo showed the orig. Chanel suit; the caption described the copy.
On the orig. the trim is inserted strips; on the copy the trim is ribbon stitched on top of the fabric. The collar on the orig. is shaped so you could tell that it was the orig. not the copy.
The suit was available at Lord & Taylor and could be ordered from I.Magnin and another store.
Once again, many thanks for the help to locate the photo.
The two suits have been invited to be in a museum show about copies. I'll send more details early next year.
