Chara-Jac By Character Fur Coat

I have just spent the last 2 hours trying to reserach this coat and I can't find anything! You guys are an amazing wealth of knowledge and I was hoping you could help me with this coat.

Does anyone know what type of fur it is? year? Anything about this brand at all? Worth?

I appears to be a faux fur when I am viewing it. Is it true fur?
I am seeing a more modern vintage

I'm not sure - might be vintage. What is the RN number? I can't quite make it out. Also, please note we can't give any information on value on the forums.

It looks like a faux fur to me as well. Do you know if that is the original belt?

my first thought is 1970s faux fur. my mom had a coat with a belt like that, the wrap and tie and wide lapels were popular in the 70s.

i could be wrong, but that's my first impression.

I agree with the ladies above, this looks faux. If you can get a good look at the base of the fur, where the "skin" would be, you should be able to see if the hair is woven. That's always a dead giveaway.

The label - Character Fur - to me hinted at it being faux fur. Real fur coats typically have a label from a furrier and/or a store.
