Charles Demery French Country Fabric

Hi all - Does anyone happen to have knowledge of a Charles Demery? My understanding is that he is (was?) a highly acclaimed designer of French Country fabrics. His company name is Soleiado, and there are still Soleiado stores (one in Maine) that carry French Country fabric wares. I emailed them to inquire about history but didn't hear back.

I have a vintage sun dress that has a Soleiado label and Demery's name in it. it also has a label that says "Made in Paris France for the Irish Linen Shop, Bermuda". I believe this dress was from the 1060's. My big question is wether Demery himself was only a designer of fabrics or if he was also a designer of clothing. I love this little cutie of a dress - maybe threre are others out there somewhere!

The Souleiado company currently manufactures ladies blouses and childrens clothing in addition to a full line of home textiles, so they may have manufactured ladies dresses at one time. This site shows their current product line.
