Hi everyone,
I am fairly new to this forum, this being my second post, I am seeking to fill the gaps in my knowledge, if anyone is good enough to help me out!
I am slightly stumped on the date of this particular blouse. I am also seeking information on Charles Glueck, the designer. Initially, I thought it was fairly early, due to the quality, the woven label and the style of the blouse. Then, on further scrutiny, I put the date forward to the 70s disco era (I know Halston used a lot of silk lamé). It has a mix of old and modern features- for instance the elastic waist along with metal stud fasteners and fabric-covered metal buttons. It could perhaps be 60s as it does not have a care label. Would I be right in saying this suggests the garment pre-dates 1972?

The fabric is a delicate silk chiffon with copper coloured lamé threads throughout. The torso is lined with black silk chiffon. The sleeves are puffed- there is a fan structure that flares upwards at the seam.
The blouse fastens with a hook and eye at the (elasticated) waist, covered buttons up the torso and a stud fastener at the neck.
I was able to find one reference to Charles Glueck in a New York Times article from 1977:

(A Young Designer Eyes Suburbia) when he was the Director of Design and Vice President at Butte Knit. https://www.nytimes.com/1977/09/25/archives/new-jersey-weekly-a-young-designer-eyes-suburbia.html

Scanning ebay/etsy, I have found evidence that his name appears on clothing from the 50s right up to recent times.

It would be really helpful to know when Charles Glueck launched his solo label. Can anyone direct me to a good source of information?
Many thanks,
Anna

A January 1980 article referred to Charles Glueck as the VP in charge of design at Butte and Butte Petites. The next career reference I found to him was in a July 1981 article that noted: “...Charles Glueck (formerly executive vice president of the Jonathan Logan firm and now head of his own high fashion company)...”

Hi Lynne, that's brilliant work!- so the top has to be 80s in that case. So it's very much a last gasp from the disco era.
