Chartreuse gown... 30s? 40s?

I love the color of this gown! The limey-yellow fabric feels like a rayon crepe. There is a side metal zip, no tags. Thank for any input.

I agree with 40's, is that the natural shoulder line or is it propped for the photo?
I also see mustard rather than chartreuse, which I find to be a much stronger green.

Another vote for '40s - the shoulders look out of this world. Please reassure us that they've been propped for the photo, rather than the most enormously wide shoulder pads/sleeve headers.

Thanks for the replies! Hmmm, mustard, I never thought of mustard as having a definite green tint (which admittedly isn't very apparent in the photos). As to the shoulders, NO they have not been propped, LOL! It's just the construction and placement of the shoulder pads that makes them so big. My manni actually has very small shoulders but the pads hit them in such a way as to really make the sleeves stand out.

Regarding the colour, what we are seeing in your photographs on our screens, may not be the same colour that you are seeing in real life. Mustard yellow does not have a green tint IMO. I'm not seeing a green tint in this dress on my screen, except very very slightly in the pic you just posted of the shoulder, but you will be seeing the true colour, not us. So you may be right, that it's chartreuse.
