I know we all use it, but there are a few changes that have been slowly evolving.

First, there's more than just labels there now. We've gone beyond labels to include hangtags and other trademarked identifiers. A great example is the Jantzen entry. We've added the famous Diving Girl and how she changed through the years.

Jantzen is also a great label to look for how font changes can help you date things. Note the progression of the font from handwriting to print.


So, think of the Label Resource when you find a garment with the original tags, or when there might be other ways to identify the age. We are always looking for ways to make the LR more interesting!

I love watching how the Jantzen label matures over the years. They really have a great logo.

I love that lady too She's not an advert/logo icon for nuthin'.

Additional visual can be so helpful for dating, and it's really interesting to see how labels in business over a span of decades or centuries evolve, mirroring or making the zeitgeist. (That'll be $10 please. For the word.)

What do you all think of Saks' new (since last Winter) logo? It joins a long line of revered predecessors...
