This is why I can't watch ANY of those real estate house buying shows anymore. It will often have couples going into houses like this and all they can think of is ripping out the old basements and turning them into rental flats, removing the wall between the dining room and kitchen and installing granite counter tops with a breakfast bar, and redoing the bathroom with two sinks. Kenn and I have been together for almost thirty years and on the RARE occasion that we are both using the sink its usually for brushing our teeth as we head out the door and so far we have managed to do it without spitting up on each other...

Good point, Jonathan! I just love that kitchen in that house and I think I would kill for one like that! Oh, all the stuff hanging on my kitchen walls would look perfect in there....

Hopefully the new owners will be as gaga over the basement as we all are, and won't touch a thing... (I shudder to imagine something that gloriously unique being torn up...)
