Sorry for all the posts, there are a few things in today's haul that I'm unsure about.

This scarf strikes me as c. 50s, but would love to be able to date it accurately. No labels, sheer green chiffon with velvet burnout edging and roses on each corner.

Ah flocked, thanks, I did a search on gem for chiffon and velvet scarf and they all said burnout. Maybe using flocked will get better results.

Flocking sits on top of the fabric, attached with some sort of adhesive.

Burnout aka devore (with an accent over the last letter) is part of the weave - the fabric starts as all-over velvet and goes through a chemical process to remove the velvet nap from the underlying fabric in a pattern.

In my experience flocking is more prone to wearing off over time.

Thank you very much, very helpful.
