I have no advice but look forward to hearing what people will have to say. I have wanted to sell some childrens clothing as well, but haven't seen the market for it yet-Lorinda

It depends on what sort of vintage childrens wear you are looking to sell.

Childrens vintage can be harder to sell than adults since there is a much smaller fashion market. There has not been the push for kids to wear vintage and even vintage wearing Moms seldom dress their kids in vintage.
The IS a collectible childrens market for early and historical pieces and there is the designer market (garment industry and textile folks) plus a market for theater and movie costume needs. There is also the doll market which buys infants vintage and small dresses to reconfigure. Christening gowns and hand smocked dresses seem to have a a good market and so do older shoes and bonnets.

These are the markets I would target I suggest you look on line at other childrens vintage sites.

OHHHH!

I've got about 30-40 pieces of children's clothes from the 50s and 60s. They came from a "mercerie" that closed up godknowswhen and I bought a "load" from them for the fabric...the clothes are darling, never been worn, mostly with their tags...and I've just been too busy cranking out the alterations to research, photograph, etc.

My aversion to dealing with the general public remains intact...Flic do you want to send me a message...are you looking for stock?

Ikonicvintage, thanks for the site!

Cheers to all, Melissa

Justine - that is such a nicely done site - thanks for sharing. Melody - thanks for the explanation. I too have various vintage outfits (different eras) for children hanging around here. Flic - I'd take a good look at the site Justine shared. That would be a tricky market. Also of course search completed items for all vintage childrens' clothes. Good luck!

Im a little curious about this also. I just bought a few items this past weekend...
Do kids vintage tshirts really sell for $32!!! If I was gonna pay that much money for a tshirt, my kid better be drooling gold lol!!! But then again, Im cheap!
Melissa (mel301) I would be interested in seeing some of the stuff you have. Im not gung ho doing it in my shop yet but I may have some interest depending on what you have =)

Hi there! Im just about to launch a section of childrens vintage clothing on Candy Says (a few pieces are viewable online now) - all of it is unworn deadstock which I hope will entice those mums and dads who don't want pre-worn items. Will let you know how I get on, please let me know how you do too! xxx

everytime we have listed children's clothing from the 40's, 50's or 60's it gets swooped up within days

maybe i've always priced it too low, but it flies right out of here. you should do GREAT with your stuff, candy_says, depending on your price points, i'd say!!

good luck, flic! are you opening online, too, then?? come on over to Ruby Lane!! :horny: (see other thread going now...) seriously, though, if you haven't already done all your set up, check it out, its easy to use and has a great customer base...
