Hi,
This is my first post so please bear with me! I am a thrift store addict and just found a Christian Dior belt with a gold tone leaf clasp at a thrift store and now would like some help dating it. I am attaching a picture but if it isn't clear, there is Christian Dior 1840 is stamped in gold on the white leather lining. Can anyone date this belt for me? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the notice. When I try to upload the photo I click browse and choose my photo but don't know what to do next (the expected upload or attach button doesn't appear). I also posted the question in the new user forum. Thanks.

With picture this time

This is a picture of the belt (I hope!).

The belt itself reminds me of the wide belts that were made in the '80s to go with outfits, it seems to have a plastic lining with printed words.

The buckle looks similar to the styles of the Edwardian era, but without seeing/touching it I can't tell if it's old or if it's a repro style - I'm going to go with the latter, and date them as '80s because gaudy styles were popular then, but it's hard to be sure - and I'm not an expert on Dior or belts.

Nicole.

Thanks Nicole,
I was thinking 80's also - it has that Dynasty look to me. The lining is leather but the exterior is some sort of material. I am no expert! Thanks again for your help!
