That's probably not uncommon in the world of haute couture and many designers have a very close collaboration with the workroom. Christian Lacroix was a theatre designer and his fashion collections are indicative of 'where he came from.' Many theatre and film costume designers are not that skilled in the construction of garments and leave that aspect to the technical people to interpret their ideas. The same can be said about some fashion designers. Very sketchy drawings often show a strong feeling in how the designer wants a piece to look. It is rarely if ever technical.
