Classics by Anne Klein - 1980s?

I have this blouse I got at an estate sale from a woman with closets full of designer clothes. Some were from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I tried to do some research on different labels from Anne Klein and I haven't come across this one.

It's a silk blouse that buttons down the back and the label says Classics by Anne Klein®. Another label says Made in USA of imported fabric, with a label underneath it that only says 100% silk.

The hem on the bottom is not a large hem, but the hems on the back with the buttons and buttonholes is about 2" wide (not sure if that helps or not).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hmm, we don't have that label in the LR.

You don't mention shoulder pads, but I think your blouse is from the early '80s. It's a '50s influenced style that would have been worn with a skirt, perhaps a matching skirt with a wide black belt? That's why the buttons change on the back, with the small black buttons below the skirt. I saw and wore similar styles in '82-83 and in early '83 had a a similar dress with buttons down the back with a grey spotted crepe and batwing sleeves (yours looks like it has a bit of a batwing happening too).

Thanks so much for this info Nicole. It is so helpful. I was thinking the 80s myself because of the Made in USA label, but it didn't have shoulder pads and the hem at the bottom was not very large. Thanks again for your help.

There is no sign that it might have had shoulder pads that were removed? There were a lot of velcro should pads around this time frame.
It is possible. I just looked at the shoulders and there wasn't any velcro, but I did notice that the black dots on the inside of the blouse at the shoulders do seem to be a little more faded than the rest of the shirt, as if more wear at that area. I noticed it there and at the area of the smaller black buttons on the bottom.

I agree with 80s on the look of this one. Also, the pink and black color combination was popular for s short time, as part of the 1950's revival styles that Nicole has mentioned. I remember seeing a lot of pink and black!
