Cleaning a wool coat with fur collar.

Hi,
I have just purchased a Lilli Ann 1960 winter coat with a fur collar. The coat is cream in colour but there appears to be some dust marks around the neck line. Anyone have any ideas on cleaning this without a dry clean?

Some remove the collar and just dry clean the coat. If it's the collar that's needing cleaning, that'll need to go to a furrier.

I have two wools that I have to sew the collar back on to. It's a pickle, and should be done on a dress form to get the proper lay to the collar. Take some pics as you unthread the collar to take the wool to the cleaner. Just in case you don't get right back to it soon, it will remind you how the thing was stitched on.

Thanks, I never thought of that.
