Cleaning old satin shoes

Took a chance and picked up a pair of fabulous 40s/50s satin (like peau-de-soie) shoes. They are a silvery white and dirty. Is there any way to clean these?

Thanks!!!

Nope, the only thing you can do is dye them :( I bought a lovely ivory satin pair of babydolls in Montreal with marks, etc but Dylon no longer makes satin shoe dye!! Black is all gone and the only colors left in the world are red and navy.

I have a pair of pale aqua Daniel Greene slippers and they had a huge red grease pencil mark and numerous black scuffs on the side of them. I figured I had nothing to lose and blotted them with Goo-Gone.

Well, the stains came out but it appeared there was going to be big ugly grease stains on them. I hought that might happen anyway so I wasn't very surprised. But about an hour later after it had completely dried they looked perfect! No more marks and NO grease stains!

Wow, really? That's amazing. Grease stains are usually it for most things I find. I wonder if it would work on clothing without damaging it? Thank you so much for sharing. I love Goo-Gone!
