Picked this up yesterday at an antique store and the owner had it tagged as 60's. Could it be older?

Would you consider this Hippie Bohemian? Mexican Folk Art?

I believe it is silk but is that embroidery? it is only on one side, the other side is flat but you can see the design.
3 snap closure on the bodice and fringed down the center front and around the bottom.
I am totally clueless here, did I waste my $$?

Lin was talking about the "curtains" look the other day where rich brocades and very rich opulent looking textiles were or were going to be a new trend and this fits in well with that to the 100% degree.

This almost has a long tunic quality about it. I picture a maxi style as having a very defined waist line which this doesn't. Its more like a column (?) dress maybe or a long tunic like style.
