Coin purse? What the heck is this thing?!

hi there!

i have this item that i thought was a coin purse, but when i opened it up got a surprise. there is no place to store coins, but rather a bunch of hooks! is it a keychain? really confused. any insight would be much appreciated! thanks!

And how fancy were were back then. Now we keep them in a big wad surrounded by do-dads and thing-a-ma-gigs and just shove them into our purse.
