Collar Question - Fur Jacket

Hi again,

This is sort of an inane question but... I have struggled with this for a while.

Would you call this a stand up shawl collar? I sell a LOT of vintage fur and see this style of collar described in so many different ways. If I call it a shawl collar, it brings to mind for me, the more broad sort of collars seen on longer, more formal fur coats. It isn't a fichu collar but kinda, it isn't REALLY off shoulder but more open than most. I have seen this called off shoulder, stand up, shawl and wrap collar. I would just like to know, what words would you use, if you were specifically looking for a mink fur jacket, with a collar like the cropped jacket pictured.

Thanks

Ohhh rolled cowl collar... I like that. I think that describes it well. Maybe it is a mix of both answers. A rolled, stand up, wide, cowl collar? :P

It was such a popular style for a while, and quite distinctive. You would think someone had a specific name for it, at least in advertisements somewhere. But I just cannot search anymore archives... I'll go mad.

Interested to see other suggestions too... but so far, thank you

Hi there, I would call this a wide ring collar and sometimes there is a double layer inside that rests inside that prevents wind or cool air from hitting the back. In that case I would call it a double layered wide ring collar. I'd also reference this to be a Jackie O style. :)

Ok then and thank you. It is double layered. Then finally I have my answer. Double layered wide ring collar. :)

Thank you kindly!
