Cool (literally) jacket: 40\'s or 40\'s style?

At first I thought it was rayon but now I think it may be poly. It has a peplum waist and clear plastic buttons that are somewhat yellowed.

I can't make out the faded satin label. I'm sure the jacket is vintage, but that's about it. Any ideas?

Also, how would you describe it?

Thanks in advance!

hmmm, all I can say is that I associate those buttons with 'round' edges with 60s and after... but other than that, I'm clueless...

As always, I am in awe over your pictures. That chick just glows. Very Hollywood old style elegance though.

By the way, I don't know if you have listed the raffia skirt, but I just saw one very similar in Instyle mag for May with a blue seersucker halter top, very cute.

I have a 50s jacket with really round big buttons. But then again, as we know buttons could have been replaced.

I really don't know. But i think it's great!

Lin - when you say "round edges" on the buttons, do you mean the rims?

Kelly - thanks for the compliment about the pics. Remembered I have a tripod, the light was good in my office that day - et voila! :)

I haven't listed the raffia skirt yet - I'll look for the photo in InStyle. My subscription was up for renewal last month & I let it lapse. It's great for tracking trends (once they trickle down to the middle) & as a source of pics of what the celebs are wearing, but plowing through that monster every month just felt like work. Sometimes too much is too much! :)
