costume jewelry...what do you think date ?

amongst of the bits that i got around the place....well amongst all the piles......boxes.....rails of clothes and accessories...

i got these 2 peices..... not exactly the crown jewels lol...

what date would you put on them ? i know its not clothing ....but thought maybe you gurus.. would have a better idea than me....

i was thinking 50's on the both of them.... but not sure....

the broach w.germany stamped in small letters on the back..

the choker ...has no marking....

I have no idea on the necklace, but you are right about the brooch--it's very early 50s, possibly late 40s. I'm guessing it has a filigree back?

Milk glass was very popular then, and though that style of brooch (clustered with hand wiring or riveting to a perforated or filigree back) shows up much earlier (ie in 30s/40s Haskell), the "W Germany" stamp means it's post WWII!

I remember reading somewhere that you don't find 'W. Germany' markings until after 1948, between 45 and 48 you see occupied Germany but not West. The choker looks wartime to me because of its lack of metal use -- are those loopy things cellophane by any chace?

the outter part of the floral thing... looks like fine nylon.... like fishing gut.

then there is a littke bit of shiny irridessant plastic.....

i seen another one...almost identical in a boots sale.. a while back..... and the little round plastic things... ( little tiddlywinks ).. it had mother of pearltype/shell slightly of circle embelishments....

the person whi i bought it off said his mother had made it ...

but you can take some things that people say with a pinch of salt...

just notice on the hook attachment it says west germany..... so whether that is where the hook got made or whether the it where the choker got made

i also got a broach type pendant... with shirley temple in it...
was shirley temple early 40's or mid to late 40's?
