Cotton stockings with Arabic writing?

I found these wonderful old cotton stockings at an estate sale today, with the tag still attached. The writing appears to be Arabic, I think? How would I go about dating these? I've only seen cotton stockings from the 1920's, but I'm not sure if they're that old.

I can't identify the writing but can confirm that I've seen '30s knitted stockings like these.
