Could someone please help me date this Courreges?

From comparing the label to ones in the famous VFG label resource :) , I'm assuming it is post-60s, but I'm not sure at all. Early 60s-style jacket (boxy, 3/4-length sleeves) with big elbow patches. The skirt is slightly A-line, knee-length and has a double row of buttons like the jacket.

Hi again Maggie,

Just found a site with some info on Courreges.
Courreges

Andre Courreges opened his own house, "Maison de Courreges" at 48 ave Kleber in 1961.

On 2nd thought, I would then think this would have been pre 1964 as 1964 was HIS year, the start of his brief reign as King of Paris Fashion. He also created the MOON GIRL look.

Featured in his Fall 1964 collection, were flared mini dresses with plastic portholes for waistlines and an assortment of hats shaped like platters. But even more revolutionary, was the footwear. Low-heeled, calf high boots made of white plastic and ornamented only with a clear cut-out slot near the top. This 'Go-go' boot quickly moved from the catwalk to the street and the dance floor.

Although I can't be certain...but the suit is a little more "straight" conservative in look than what he came up with in 1964.

yep, early 60's...how interesting those elbow patches!

cute as ever! pink is SWELL on you!! OH!!! btw, that tweed-y-ish suit arrived today, it is absolutely one of my all-time favorites as far as color!!! :kiss2: its a great palette for me and i have a cute pair of shoes that i had to click-click-click around the house in with the suit, of course!! yippee!! THANK YOU!! i am already referring to it as my Lois Lane suit, as that is what it reminds me of!! (oh clark!)

Thank you all for your thoughts, and Mary, I'm very glad you like that suit!!

I neglected to show you all the label in this Courreges:

If it were some no-name suit, I wouldn't obsess about this so much, but... You really think it could be pre-Mod Courreges?

The label looks most like Jonathan's 1966 one to me, but the label really did not change much, and honestly there were dozens of variations.

I think it is about 1962-3. Is it the original length?

REALLY wonderful!

Lizzie

I believe it is the original length, with the same double stitching as used throughout the suit. I love how far up the bottom button is on the suit...like Courreges was getting ready to show more leg...
