County Fair-the VFG fashion parade for the week of August 21st

    County Fair
    The County Fair - a tradition as American as apple pie! These summertime celebrations of small towns and rural communities showcase the talent, skills and hobbies of local residents in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Tractor pulls, pie eating contests, 4H clubs, art exhibits, friendly competitions for the tastiest jam or largest vegetable, a seemingly endless selection of fried food on a stick, live oldies music, carnival rides and midway games... there is truly something for everyone to enjoy at the County Fair! What to wear? Vintage, of course!

    This Laura Petrie style 1960s pastel striped sleeveless button-front button-down blouse (B39) is perfect to wear on a hot day; it is available at our Less Than Perfect shop on Etsy now:

    and for the concerts in the evenings? this 1980s strapless fit and flare dress (in the style of Laura Ashley) is perfect (xxs). It is now available at The Vintage Merchant on Ruby Lane.

    I was a 4H member too! But even though we were a farming community, I was herded into a girl's club - cooking, sewing, flower arranging, baby sitting. No animals!
