The load of work of the last weeks (new position - big step forwar!) has given me little time for my passion for vintage and I actually wanted to spend this weekend just relaxing and sleeping in. However, it is so unusually cold here right now (-15 degrees C this morning!!!), that I had to go out and finally buy new warm winter boots - the old ones were just not up to this kind of cold anymore. Of course that meant having a peek into the Caritas shop as well, as that is on the way. Well, I know why I never want to move from here, thought this apartment could do with a newer kitchen... that shop alone makes me never want to leave this part of town .
Today I found the most fabulous rain coat... by Courrèges! Ok, this was not a bargain, but it was worth every penny spent I think. Condition is perfect, like new, and they have had it dry-cleaned only two weeks ago - the dated tag from the cleaners was still there.
Based on the style, my gut feeling and on the information in the label resource, I would have guessed 70s, but I would like to have your opinions as well, and maybe this could be narrowed down a bit more?
All buttoned up.
Backside.
Also looks good not quite so buttoned up. The shape is trapeze-ish, but there is a subtle bit of shaping at the waist, it isn't a straight trapeze shape down from the yoke. Nice round shoulder styling, no shoulder pads.
The fabric is a beautiful cream color, with a slight shimmer, rather heavy, and slightly textured. All buttons are these brown plastic snaps with the Courrèges logo on it.
Underneath the flaps, the pockets have big zips.
The label, and the logo-printed lining. There are no other labels. I read in the LR that this one of the ready to wear lables, which existed from about 1967 onwards. I was wondering - did the A denote the size? Other Couture Future labels in the resource show the letter C. It is quite small in the shoulders and upper body.
