Courreges labels: 0 00 000

Hello! I have searched the label resource as well as the forum and all over Google. I can find no explanation of the zeros found on a lot of Courreges labels. Many sellers are mistaking these for sizes, but they are not. I have seen one, two, or three zeros in a box on the labels. I currently have a coat with two zeros. Can anyone enlighten me about what this means? Could it be a level of quality such as "black label" used by some modern designers? If so, it would help in determining a value. Thanks!

Hi MissMossLake and welcome to the forums.

I'm not a Courreges expert but from the placement on the label, sizing indicator is my thought too. Is there another size label elsewhere on the garment? You're confident it's not a size; why is this?

Many designers use their own sizing system and from the Label Resource it looks like Courreges also uses letters in this place too - A, C.

Courreges had two additional RTW lines: Couture Future and Hyperbole. A higher quality level of manufacture generally results in a different label as these ones suggest so I doubt the zeros represent this, as the RTW labels would cover that aspect.

A local vintage retailer recently sold a large collection of brand new old stock Courreges from the '60s-70s, I wish I'd taken more notice of the labels now as they would provide information.

Nicole, thank you for your response! The reason I thought that this could not be a sizing system is because I found other pieces labeled the same but seemingly very different sizes based on measurements given. I guess there is room for error in this. I also noticed the letter sizes from same or similar era (and I have a Hyperbole piece in my shop marked "C"), but I didn't think a designer would employ two different sizing systems. But then, Courreges was a rebel! :) I was really curious more than anything.
