Cowboy boots - vintage? + Questions about the style...

There's something a little 'Rhinestone Cowboy' about them, but what really has me stumped is the shape - never seen anything like it, with the higer shaft in front. Real, working cowboy boots tend to be high, but high in the front <i>and</i> the back. Does anyone know if this style has a name?

I did some general cowboy boot searches on Google & couldn't find anything like these.

Questions, comments, anything? :)

Carolyn, I don't know a thing about cowboy boots but these look great. I like the Rhinestone Cowboy idea and be sure to mention silver.
 
That's the longest stovepipe shaft I've ever seen! They have more of a walking heel on them, which combined with the fancy vamp and counter, leads me to believe they may be part of a show/parade costume or uniform of some type. As far as dating is concerned ---- I'm clueless. Are there any manufacturer's marks? Is the sole leather? There's something vaguely familiar about these, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

In spite of my name and the number of boots I own, I don't know that much about cowboy boots. So keep that in mind!
 
I think that top is derived from a military riding boot - a Hessian? no, that's not it. Maybe a Cavalry boot?

They are very cool , and something makes me think 80s.

Hollis you are correct with a Hessian. A boot with an extension over the knee at front is called a Hessian, but the foot part of these are pure cowboy. THey are a combination styled cowboy/Hessian boot.
