Coyote or Wolf Fur Wall Hanging? Do not know if Vintage (suspect not).

A fur appraiser who saw this in person thought it was coyote; my uncle believed it to be wolf, though each of us involved would sure like my uncle to be incorrect (with wolves on the ESA list). Since wolves and coyotes interbreed and share their genetics, it may be hard to tell :(
The picture of my uncle with the wall hanging is for perspective - he was a big guy (with a big heart to match), and stood 6'1". As the tape measure shows, the pelts are combined about 5' tall.

Thank you all for each bit of guidance! We appreciate your knowledge and kindness to share it with us. :)

Hi there again. In another post I had replied in, I mentioned that it's tough to identify fur types via photos alone sometimes. Wolves and coyote look very much alike. Wolves are larger than coyotes, and they sometimes weigh up to two times more.
Sometimes the face, body, legs, and tails of coyote are used to greaten the size and use as much as the pelt as possible.
Wolf pelts usually measure somewhere about 20" wide. A coyote pelt measures somewhere about 8"-10" wide.
Can you please measure across one of the pelts and let me know what the measurement you get there is please?
Here's a portion of a pelt. Measure from the hind side. There's a triangle there. That's where a head was. There are seam lines below that create a rectangular shape. Can you please measure the dimension or width across the seam that attaches to that triangle?

It's very important when viewing images online to make determinations based on the specifics that can be verified based on what's seen and the information gleaned from what is shared in words.
If you provide us with some more of the details, we may be able to tell you if it's one or the other. If not, it's important to say so, rather than share with certainty when not sure.
The fur shown is not goat, but if you provide the answers to the questions I asked we will be happy to do our best to assist more.

I had not considered what the seaming on the back of the pelts meant. Thank you for explaining.
We will reach out to the executor holding this piece to get the measurements you asked about, and I will post them once I have more information.
Thank you for the direction!
