Creative People-what can I make out of these?

I use a lot of these drink mixes and hate to throw the plastic container away. They are pretty cool. The wrapper comes off and you're left with a plain white container with a screw on top-almost like a thermos. So they are piling up. I can use them to put things in but maybe someone here has some more creative ideas.

Scrapbooking paper is your best friend! Decorate the flat parts with the paper, tie a ribbon around the middle indented portion. Then you can have "holders" for just about anything (your kids art supplies, buttons, thread....)

I'm like you, I save nice sturdy tins, etc. for use as something as I don't want to be wasteful. I have a small shelf of projects awaiting me.

you know my mama sends me home leftovers in the cool whip bowl cause i never bring back her tupperware

My Mom saves PB jars to keep leftover house paint in, I would assume these would do the job, too, maybe with the addition of some wax paper over the top.

Poke holes in the lid to sprinkle sugar, glitter, flour (if you do a lot of kneading on a board)

Squirrel food keeper, see if she can unscrew the cap

Call your local preschool and ask if they would like them for crafting, those foam cutout shapes glue on easily

Yes, they're great for paint--instead of dragging around a gallon or quart if you're just touching up or don't need the whole can at the moment. Or for storing pens & pencils on a desk, or markers. Or keeping those odd bits of broken jewelry in for spare parts. Also great for jewelry that you're selling, or going to sell, if you store it in the little zip-loc bags first. One for earrings, one for brooches, another for tie bars....

My kids play with them in the bathtub....

Those are great ideas. I like the freezing soup idea and the sprinkling flour idea, too. I do use them to store all kinds of things in the pantry. Donating them to a daycare is a good idea, too.
I was thinking about cutting a little hole in the top of each one and sticking a tiny christmas bulb in it and punching holes in the sides in a pattern and do a whole strand like that for the patio.

Have you seen those Xmas decorations made from a circle of clear Dixie cups all glued together in a globe/ball shape, with a strand of tree lights inside, one poking out each cup?
These might make a nice version, as you suggest. Those are redneck fare around here. One on every trailer!

Beth, have you ever heard Paul Thorne's song about that? he's from Tupelo, MS and it's all about mama sending home left overs in the cool whip containers!

I've eaten a lot of mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, etc out of whipped cream containers! Usually the very whipped cream that topped the pie from that meal's dessert. Granny never let a dish go unwashed when she was the household head and in health, she practically had them in the suds before we were done eating.

My Mom sent home some leftovers in a PB jar last week. She eats a heck of a lot of PB. Weird.

My Grandpa uses old baby food jars in his shop. He has the lids nailed to a board, hung from a low rafter, so the jars dangle down and he can see what's in there. Just twist, get your fastener of choice, and retwist to hang it back up.

I would fill them 3/4 full with water, (allow for expansion) freeze them, and stick them inside a small styrofoam carrier to keep my grocery/lunch food chilled in summer on the way home from the desert heat. Nothing worse than food spoiling in the heat. When they thaw out, I just pour the water on a thirsty desert plant.
The car air conditioner can't keep the food chilled as well as the little ice jugs. I don't like to store food for any length of time in plastics. I like see through jars. But these little containers are great for doorstoppers if you fill them with sand, and decorate them.

Cute idea!

Good idea, Velvetsage! That would be nice, too, if you were taking something in a disposable container to a pot luck, funeral dinner, etc. Wrap it up in plastic grocery bags, with a few little jugs-o-ice, and not have to worry about picking it back up.
My church had a recent bad run with lots of funerals. There were a good hundred containers on the to-be-picked-up tables.

I suppose putting hot water in might do something for a little while, too, in the same circumstances.
