I was at a local antique mall Friday when I spotted a wonderful 1930s hat. Kind of slung to one side with long feathery things fanning out for about a foot on either side. It was obviously an expensive hat when new, so I took it from the shelf to take a closer look.
Sure enough, it had a Hattie Carnegie label - one I'd never seen, but similar to the one in my 1930s HC coat. A glance at the price tag put it outside my price range, but I continued to hold and admire it . Then I noticed a cute fake bug on the feathers. Wow! I thought, how clever of Hattie to think of putting a fake bug ... All of a sudden it started crawling up the feather! Not fake at all! I put that one down in a BIG hurry!
