Crochet your own net stockings!

I haven't looked into the forums much lately because I have just been too busy... my first big event for clients organise. Before I'm off on a hard-earned holiday tomorrow I'm going to blog another issue of my 1946 fashion magazines and came across this!

A pattern for crotcheted net stockings - I admit that's something I've never seen before anywhwere! It seems logical, with normal stockings being hard to get, but amongst all the "alternatives", but I admit I'd never have though of this!

I not see any thing about crocheted net stockings before I imagine it might have been done in the Victorians. and might have been a lost art for many years. who knows. I wonder how long it would take to do a pair?

I've seen knitting patterns for stockings, but not crochet.

Pauline, I have no idea how long they would take, but I think that is quite a lot of work! It would probably be easier to knit some in a normal stitch, without any patterns...
