CROSSINGS Label on Men's Shirt

There are quite a few CROSSINGS Men's Shirts for sale on Ebay and Etsy. However, I can finid little company information. I inquired about the RN 37763 on the Federal Trade Commission's Database - and it brought up the Perry Ellis Company. Looked at the Label Resource Listing here re. Ellis - but no mention of CROSSINGS brand. Anyone have any knowledge about Men's CROSSINGS shirts? Thank you.

A 1999 article noted that "Supreme International, the Miami-based marketer of men's sportswear, has agreed to purchase Perry Ellis International..." and "In addition to Munsingwear, Supreme owns and markets sportswear under the Crossings label..."

A second 1999 article noted: "Oscar Feldenkreis, 39, has steered Miami- based Supreme International from being an unglamorous mass-market private-label sportswear company into a $255 million branded sportswear marketer with acquisitions of Perry Ellis International, Crossings and Munsingwear..."

A third 1999 article mentioned: "...Todd Grethel, lead designer for Crossings..."

Thank you, Ikranieri, for your information! Your comments encouraged me to dig a little further! The Perry Ellis International website has a great Company History chart. It states that Supreme International changed its name to Perry Ellis International in 1999 shortly after it acquired Perry Ellis. It acquired CROSSINGS brand in 1997, and transformed the line from knits and woven to all category sportswear. I also found that the Crossings brand was marketed by the Sweater Knits Company in the @ mid 1990s. This company, headed by Gene Rothkopf was sold to Supreme International in 1997. There are sweaters with the CROSSINGS label that refer to a Geneco, Inc. Appears that this company manufactured and/or marketed the CROSSINGS knitwear brand from at least the late 1980s to 1996 when the company dissolved (Chapter 8). Thus the CROSSINGS garments which list a RN 37763 were marketed post 1997 by Supreme International (and perhaps before its name change to Perry Ellis International). The CROSSINGS garments with listed GENECO would predate these. Perry Ellis International has also informed that the CROSSINGS brand has not been discontinued but is used for "programs" and "special makeups".

Hello-I’m new here and to this world of vintage garment research. I have a Crossings sweater that I’m trying to date and price. Are RN’s chronological? So my label with rn 73865 would then be post 1997?
