The care instructions make me think this is probably 70s or 80s. Lovely pattern!

Yes, I'm thinking '70s too. The care instructions are too detailed for the '60s. No idea on the knit, but I'd be inclined to call it "fancy".

Thank you, I thought the care instructions were a solid indicator, but searching for similar sweaters online led me to a few sweaters dated to the 60's by sellers. It's too bad people don't take more care in dating the items they list for sale. Thanks again
I would call the knit something like: columns of a fancy eyelet stitch against a base of reverse stocking stitch.
