Curly Lamb or Something Else... Fur on 20s Cape?

Coarse and curly, rather unusual compared to the types of fur I'm used to seeing. Just curly lamp/sheep fur or something else?

It looks like what is known as long haired Mongolian lamb. I have never seen a coat from that period with that trim but that's not to say it wasn't used then. I believe the regions that produced this fur for were involved in export at the time.

I am sure Ang that you have checked that it isn't a later addition where it could have been a remodelled coat - like the iconic hippie embroidered coat from the mid 1960's.
